This very elegant modern cage-style ceiling pendant is created by hand, using traditional techniques which have been passed down through many generations of Venetian glass blowers. The glass is beautiful. It's a lovely milky white, otherwise known as "lattimo". The molten glass is poured into a special wire mould by a skilled glass-blower. This seems simple enough, but the glass needs to be contained as it cools, and kept to a uniform thickness, so the process is fraught with potential problems.
